Binomial Name: Pagellus Bogaraveo
Name: Red Sea Bream / Pandora
Family: Sparidae
A fish of squat appearance which is easily recognizable by its oversized eyes. It also displays another characteristic feature: a black spot near the gills.
Although it can reach 70cm and 4kg, the red sea bream is, on average, 30 to 50cm long, and weighs between 1.5 and 2kg. The flesh is fine and firm, and fishing follows strict regulations, requiring to the fish to reach its commercial size of 30cm and 5 years of growth.

Name: Black Sea Bream / Grey Pandora
Family: Sparidae
A blue-grey fish, living near the coasts of the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, and the Black Sea, the black sea bream can live up to 20 years. It has a long and flat body, and can reach 20 to 30cm and up to 2kg. Although the fish does not belong protected species, fishing is not allowed before the sea bream reaches 23cm, to allow it to breed at least once.
The fish is appreciated for its fine, delicate and fragrant flesh, which is rich in proteins, and its good value for money.

A silver fish living in the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean.
As one of the biggest fish, the croaker is known for its fighting spirit. This semi-pelagic fish is a real flesh-eating predator, it relentlessly chases schools of sardines, mullets, octopuses, squids or cuttlefish. Its average size ranges from 50cm to 1m, but it can reach up to 2m and weigh 100kg. It can be cooked like bass, but the flesh of the croaker is however less fine.

Family: Sparidae
A widespread species in the tropical and eastern Atlantic, the Angolan dentex is a small-sized fish and recognizable by its large eyes and their often-yellow irises.
The fish lives in the beds of sandy silt, from 15 to 300m deep, and can reach a maximum length of 35cm and weight of 1.2kg.

Family: Cichlidae
The tilapia is the best-selling fish on the planet. “Tilapia” means “fish” in Bostwanan. It is a small exotic carp from Africa.
Living in shallow fresh waters, the fish is characterized by its white and firm flesh, and the absence of bones. Its life expectancy can exceed 10 years, and it can weigh up to 5kg.
A good value for money, the tilapia is rich in vitamins B, D, omega 3, selenium, phosphorus.

Name: Common Scad / English Mackerel
Family: Carangidae
Bearing a resemblance to the mackerel, the Atlantic horse mackerel has grey scales, a slender and spindle-shaped body, and black-spotted gills.
The fish lives and travels in schools, off the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean. Fully-grown, it can reach 60cm and lives 15 years on average.
A good value for money, this fish however belongs to monitored species, fishing is allowed once the fish reaches 15cm.

Family: Sciænidae
The umbra is often mistaken with the meagre, for it is a bony fish of 30 to 70cm. Looking for sustenance in sandy beds, the umbra is easily recognizable by its thick and short barbel.
This fish is appreciated for its white and plump flesh by gourmets, and it is mainly found in the Atlantic Ocean, but also in the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and the Red Sea.
